Teeth Whitening in Ashton Under Lyne

Our patients will obtain a thorough oral examination, performed by a dentist before the bleaching starts.

It is essential to determine whether you are a candidate for tooth whitening and what type of whitening system would provide the best results. Only a trained dentist can diagnose the type of the staining.

The whitening procedure can take place performed in the dentist chair or in your own residence.

Home Bleaching

With this technique you bleach your teeth at home, under the supervision of your dentist, using a tooth bleaching gel in a mouth guard. Impressions of your teeth are taken by the dentist and a custom made bleaching tray is constructed, A course of treatment usually takes two weeks but may vary dependant on the concentration of bleaching agent used. In cases of heavily stained teeth the duration of treatment may be longer.

In Surgery Bleaching

Once in the dental chair, a teeth whitening gel is applied to the teeth by your dentist and a LED light may be used to activate and help accelerate the effectiveness of the gel. The success of these techniques is determined by the initial colour of the teeth.

Teeth whitening is not suitable for patients with:
extreme sensitive teeth, severe loss of enamel, decay, gum disease, patients allergic to peroxide.
