Personal hygiene is important to keep you healthy and presentable, this includes oral hygiene. This is the practice of keeping your teeth clean, free from decay and healthy.

Good oral health helps to reduce your risk of infections which can lead to pain, discomfort and even health conditions. Having strong, healthy teeth is in your best interests.

It is recommended to brush your teeth twice daily, floss regularly and visit the dentist at least twice a year for regular checkups and to catch any issues early on.

Keeping your teeth and mouth clean and healthy helps to reduce the risk of further health complications. Tooth decay that worsens can go on to infect bones and other areas of the body, as well as being incredibly painful and making it difficult to eat which can adversely affect your health.

Tooth loss can be a result of poor oral hygiene. This is due to plaque buildup that results in severe decay or even gum diseases and infections.

Tooth loss can not only be uncomfortable and make eating difficult, but the open wound in your mouth can leave you more susceptible to sickness and disease.

It is important not only to clean your teeth and maintain your oral hygiene this way but to ensure you are careful with them as well. Chipped or cracked teeth can lead to further issues, so ensuring you do not bash, grind or bang your teeth is important to prevent this.

Not only does good oral hygiene serve your health, but it also serves your confidence as well.

Having a smile that you are proud of can boost your self-esteem and make you feel great about yourself and regular cleaning prevents bad breath which can be unpleasant to deal with both for you and others.
